Simple Autoresponders
cpmenu
Autoresponders, also known as "infobots", automatically send a standard reply to any person who
sends an e-mail to the autoresponder. Common applications range from sending detailed price lists
or other information to sending the ubiquitous "thank you for your message" response.
Autoresponders can be easily created and managed through your WebControl panel. Just click on the
Autoresponders link from your control panel's left navigation bar.
In the Email Address box, enter the name of your autoresponder without the domain
name.
In the Subject box, enter the subject that you want the autoresponder to display.
In the Message to Send box, enter the message that you want the autoresponder to send. If you
hit [Enter], the line break will be displayed in your message. HTML code is not allowed.
After entering all the information, click on the Save Autoresponder button.
Example: You want everyone who sends an e-mail to sales@yourdomain.com to receive the standard
"thank you for your message" response:

Infobot Usage
Autoresponders can be used as a simple means to automatically supply information to users
who send an e-mail to the autoresponder address. For example, you could create an autoresponder
containing a price list of your products. Users could automatically receive a copy of the price
list simply by e-mailing the appropriate address. You can combine the use of a mail form (like
CGIEmail) with an autoresponder to accept the user's e-mail
address online and automatically send the autoresponder, without the user having to physically
create and send an e-mail.
To receive copies of all infobot requests, you need to set up a redirect with the
same name as the autoresponder. IMPORTANT: Set up the autoresponder before adding
the redirect -- otherwise, it won't work.
Vacation Autoresponders
To create a vacation autoresponder for a POP e-mail user (e.g., to send out automatic replies when
a user is on vacation), simply create an autoresponder with the same name as the POP user who is on
vacation. The auto replies will be sent and the user will still receive all incoming emails.
When the user returns from vacation, just delete the autoresponder.
