Referral and Error Logs

Extended referer logs and error logs are available as optional features. Extended referer logs produce additional information in your access-logs, including referring URL and browser type. Error logs maintain a record of application errors, which may help you troubleshoot errors with CGI scripts and other programs.

If your account includes referrer or error logs, you need to complete the installation of these logs from your control panel:

  1. Select "Extras" from your Control Panel's left navigation bar.
  2. Select "Scripts/Services" from the top navigation bar.
  3. Select the checkbox corresponding to the service you want to install.
  4. Click the "Install Service" button.

Referrer logs add additional information to your access-log file, which is located in your home directory. Adding referrer logs to your account will also cause Wusage to report the additional information in its reports.

Adding error logs will create a file named error-log in your home directory.
