Miva Merchant Installation and Configuration

Before you can do anything, you need to install Miva Merchant into your account. You can now do this from your control panel: Simply click the "Extras" button on the left side of the control panel main menu screen. Then, click the Miva checkbox, and hit the "Install Service" button. Do not enter anything in the Desired Password box. You can now close your control panel, wait 15 to 30 minutes for the install to complete, and continue as described below.

After installing Miva Merchant from your control panel, wait 30 minutes and then point your browser to:

http://yourdomain.com/Merchant2/setup.mvc

NOTE: Replace yourdomain.com in the above URL with your actual domain name.

Fill in the requested information. You will need to know your Miva Merchant license number and your server/machinename in order to complete the setup. Your license number was included in the welcome e-mail you received after establishing your Miva Merchant-enabled account.

You can find your server name listed on the main page of your web control panel. The panel below indicates that the server name for joes.com is fornax.

After filling in the basic info, you will be asked to verify paths. You must modify the path information according to the following instructions in order for your version of Miva Merchant to operate properly.

Domain Settings / Site Configuration

IMPORTANT NOTE: 99% of all setup problems are related to incorrect path configurations during this stage. One incorrect character in the path information will result in errors during administration or shopping. Please make sure that you enter the complete path information on one line into your setup. Replace yourdomain.com with your domain name, replace machinename with your actual machine name, and replace yourdomain with your username (i.e., your domain name minus the TLD extension.)

[For example, if your domain name was joes.com and your account was hosted on the fornax server, you would replace machinename with fornax, yourdomain.com with joes.com and yourdomain with joes].
